Emily Snow, MEd Director of ERSEA and Family Engagement
Mrs. Myers has been leading the agency’s early childhood education team since 1990. She has always maintained a strong commitment to applying the latest research, trends and evidence based practices in the field of early childhood to all aspects of agency operations. Her commitment to quality is unwavering and her inherent respect for families and their young children guides her approach to service delivery.
Mrs. Myers graduated from Edinboro University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and then from Carlow University with an M Ed in Early Childhood Education. Prior to her career at the Children’s Center, Laurette was a speech and language therapist and then the director at a special needs preschool in Allegheny County for 10 years. Laurette has been a resident of Butler County for decades. She currently resides in the city of Butler where she values the sense of community and connectedness.
Kathy Fredrick, BEd Program Director
Mr. Snow started out as a Head Start parent at Butler County Children’s Center. He spent 5 years as custodian at the Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler, 6 years as County manager in Butler, Armstrong and Clarion counties for Roto - Rooter of Western Pa, 20 years as a Structural Steel fitter at JW Steel Mars Pa, 6 years part time at Butler County Children’s Center. Currently Facility/Transportation Manager for the past 2 years at the Butler County Children’s Center.
Mr. Snow graduated from Butler High School. Mr. Snow was born and raised in Butler and continues to live in Butler Township with his wife.
Laurette Myers, MEd Program Director
Kathy has been responsible for the management and supervision of programs at the Children’s Center for 23 years. Prior to serving as the Special Services Coordinator and Early Head Start Program Manger she was the Center Director of the Bon Aire Site.
Kathy Graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education and then earned a Specialized Diploma of Leadership for Early Childhood Education Program Directors from Northampton County Area Community College. She is a PA Keys to Professional Development Certified Instructor and a Certified Pre-K CLASS Observer.
Dr. Glew started her career as an educator in 1988 as a preschool teacher. She was employed by Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV as a school psychologist and thereafter a special education supervisor in Early Intervention. Dr. Glew recently retired from the Intermediate Unit after 24 years of service. She is delighted to continue working in the field of early childhood education with the Butler County Children’s Center children, families, and staff.
Dr. Glew graduated from Carlow College with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Her Master’s degree in Special Education and School Psychology certificate were completed at Duquesne University, where she later earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2012. Dr. Glew and her husband are native Pittsburghers who relocated to Butler in 1993. They have an adult daughter who graduated from Butler High School and now attends Pennsylvania State University
Beth Ann Glew, Ed.D Executive Director of Early Learning Programs
Elisa has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and Early Childhood Education from Seton Hill University and a M. Ed. from California University in Special Education. She started her professional career at Westmoreland Community Action in 1992 as the Director of Community Services. In 2001 Elisa went to Family Behavioral Resources to manage the BHRS services at the Monroeville site, then later to Milestone Centers Inc. as the Director of Children’s Services. Prior to her appointment as the CEO of Butler County Children’s Center, she acted as the CEO of Seton Hill Child Services. Elisa enjoys outdoor activities, snow skiing, golf, and spending time with her family.
Emily started as Family Engagement /ERSEA Director with Butler County Children’s Center in February of 2018. Emily is no stranger to BCCC. She started out as a babysitter for parent meetings when she was in high school, worked in the office and summer fun day care program in college and then again as a site assistant and office staff after graduating. Emily has spent the past 14 years working as a clinician and manager for a mental health provider in Butler County.
Emily has her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s degree in Special Education from Slippery Rock University. Emily lives in the Butler area with her husband, son and daughter.
Ms. Fischer has been with Butler County Children’s Center since October 1997. Mrs. Fischer holds a B.S. in Human Resources from Geneva College as well as her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification. Prior to beginning at the Children’s Center Mrs. Fischer was an independent business owner and entrepreneur.
Mrs. Fischer is a 2003 graduate of Leadership Butler County and a member of the Society of Human Resources and the Butler Human Resource Association. She has served on various non-profit boards in the community. Mrs. Fischer was raised in the Butler community, spent 10 years in the Chicago area, and returned to the community she loves.
Scott Snow Facilities and Transportation Director
Mr. Terek has worked at The Butler County Children’s Center since 1984. Prior to the Children’s Center Paul worked 16 years in various accounting positions at the Corporate Headquarters for AK Steel in Middletown, OH.
Mr. Terek has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration/Finance from Xavier University.
